Relocating the sharp rush on the 17th fairway
The next phase of the re-development of the 17th hole has now been completed. This involved moving the sharp rush at the front end of the new fairway, moving the footpath through the grassed bank so that it lines up with the new fairway, realignment of the tee and returning the old fairway to 'rough' status.
During this period the area around the sharp rush will become 'ground under repair' with relief given as in Rule 25-1.
However, the realignment of the footpath from the tee has caused some concern on safety grounds and in terms of wearing the surfaces at the back of the 16th green. We now plan to reinstate the old pathway, past Jim Breen Turner's memorial plaque.
It is enviged that the work on the 17th hole, particularly the new bank, will take 2/3 years to establish.

enlarged bunker at the 2nd green
As part of the Bunker Development Plan agreed at the last AGM, the following bunkers have been refurbished or filled in:
- right of the second fairway - filled in
- left of the 2nd green - enlarged (see left)
- front right of the 5th green - filled in and contoured
- short left of the 8th green - filled in
- short right of the 11th green - filled in
Phase 2 will begin in October 2010.
