ELFED EVANS CUP

On the 11th of July there was a great turnout for the Elfed Evans Cup. This is a very special event in the calendar with adults and juniors teaming up to compete for the Elfed Evans cup.

The winners were Efan Anwyl, Iwan Evans, Llion Evans and Dave Reaney

 

OPEN FESTIVAL

The club welcomed over 500 visitors over the 4 day event and we enjoyed glorious sunshine and wonderful golf. We hope that many of our visitors will return – either as guests or new members

CAPTAINS CHARITY EVENT

Thanks to our Captains Jeanette and Jamie for organizing a golf competition and social evening to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance

There is also a raffle to win a fourball package at Hillside and Royal Porthcawl - contact the club to enter.

 

 

MATCH V ASHBURNHAM

We welcomed our old friends from Ashburnham and enjoyed good golf and a wonderful evening with great food and company.  RSD won the match 4/3.

Bank Holiday Boom at Royal St David’s Golf Club 

 

Royal St David’s Golf Club saw an unprecedented number of members and visitors take part in 4 days of competitions over the Bank Holiday weekend. 

 

The sun shone and the players took advantage of the good weather to produce some excellent golf. There were ladies, men’s and mixed competitions and a number of new names will appear on the club winners boards after this weekend

June Results at Royal St David’s Golf Club 

Club Championship

Congratulations to Iwan Lewis for winning the Club Championship with two excellent rounds of 67 and 71. Llion Lloyd Kerry was second and Jamie Howie came third.

Welsh Team Championships

Well done to the mens team who have qualified for the final of the Team Championship to be held at Pennard in August. The beat Clays in the first preliminary round and then beat Padeswood and Buckley in the second round.

The Ladies will compete in the finals to be held at Royal St. David's in September.,

Senior Men's Open (22nd June)

Over 120 golfer took part in the Senior Mens Open this year which was a four ball betterball format. the event was won by visitors W. Weaver and W. Morris with 44 points. The best local score was John Wolstenholme and Van Crichlow who were third with 42 points.

St. David's Gold Cross ( 26th & 27th June)

A total of 60 golfers took part in this year's Gold Cross which was played in dry but windy weather. The wind- and thick rough- proved a tough challeneg for competitors but some excellent score were returned throughout the 4 round.

The winner was Joe Jones of Langland Bay Golf Club with a combined total of 286 and Craig Melding Neath Golf Club was second. Congratulations to the local who also put on a very good show with Llion Lloyd Kerry in 7th place, Iwan Lewis in 9th and Geraint Jones was 10th.
