The Golf Club

The Royal St David’s Golf Club at Harlech is one of the best places for a game of golf in the world.

Established in 1894, the Harlech links provides a tremendous test of seaside golf in a matchless setting, with Harlech Castle standing sentinel above the course and the Snowdonia mountain range providing a breathtaking backdrop.

Princes, Prime Ministers and poets have all played golf at Harlech, as have some of the greatest names in the history of the game: no fewer than five Open Champions and five Amateur Champions can be identified on the various Honours’ Boards in the historic and homely clubhouse. Every year thousands of visiting golfers of both sexes make their way to Harlech to follow in the footsteps of these champions, and to enjoy the very special and very friendly atmosphere of the Royal St David’s club.

2022 will mark the centenary of championship golf at Harlech: the club has now hosted nearly eighty championships and tournaments of national or international stature, in addition to its own calendar of prestigious annual open competitions, including the St David’s Gold and Silver Crosses, the Winchilsea Foursomes, and the Ladies’ Challenge Bowl.

As you click through this website, you will learn a lot more about the history of the club, the champions who have played there, the course, practice and clubhouse facilities, and the playing opportunities for both visitors and potential new members. You can also visit our new virtual Professional’s Shop. We hope you enjoy the experience, and if you have any questions arising please don’t hesitate either to telephone the club on 01766 780361 or email [email protected].

We’d love to welcome you to Harlech, if you have never played here before, and if you have, we’d love to welcome you back!
